Curry On Curry
Studio: BIEN | Client: Google | Agency: Portal A
Back in August of last year, BIEN, an inclusion-first motion design studio, reached out from across the USA with a simple email: "We're working with Google on a project involving basketball, Steph Curry, and working in Unreal. How comfortable are you with cleaning mocap? And are you interested?"
Obviously my answer was, "Very comfortable, and duh!"
My primary role was cleaning up a variety of mocap and turning them into seamless performances for our style dev to take in and tie a bow on for Google. Every step Curry took was meticulously researched, each placement of his hands as his fingers so much as grazed the ball, and even his running cadence was studied so I could make sure each shot was prepped exactly as needed. By the end of the project it felt as if I could mimic Curry's movements (badly).
